Description
Characteristic and monumental fortress house with sunny roof terrace in the old historic centre of Weesp.
In the middle of the popular old city centre is this very charming and characterful surprisingly spacious house of 141 m2. The house is L-shaped and has no less than 4 bedrooms and a lovely roof terrace with beautiful and unique views. You are living in the middle of the history of Weesp: one of the oldest buildings in Weesp is located behind the square and the former Bartholomeus guest house.
Everything that Weesp has to offer is just around the corner. On the Grote Plein, for example, the popular restaurant de Eendracht with its terrace. Many other restaurants, cafés, coffee bars, shops, supermarkets and the City of Wesopa theatre are just a five-minute walk away. For even more choice, Amsterdam is close and easy to reach, either by car or by train, from the station (also only a few minutes' walk) where the train leaves four times an hour for Amsterdam Central and Schiphol.
In addition, various other facilities are also nearby: schools, sports facilities and (really big) playgrounds, the Summer Sailing School and De Groene Punt to hang out and swim in the river Vecht.
Layout ground floor
The house can be reached from two sides: the front in Nieuwstraat and through the kitchen on the side in Schoolsteeg. The main entrance in Nieuwstraat gives access to a hall, with storage room and double doors with glass panels. Through a living/dining room with wood-burning stove, a small elevation takes you to the back part of the house, where there is a separate toilet and the half-open kitchen. The entire ground floor has underfloor heating.
Layout 1st floor
The open staircase in the living room leads to a spacious landing, which is now used as a workspace. Here you will find two of the four bedrooms and a spacious bathroom with toilet, bath, 2 washbasins and separate shower. The bathroom is also equipped with underfloor heating.
Layout 2nd floor
Another wooden staircase leads to the top floor, with two more bedrooms, a separate toilet and a laundry room with storage behind it. From the master bedroom a staircase leads outside to the roof terrace of 7,5 m2 with a great view over the old town.
A real town house within the old lines of the original inner city with its churches, monasteries, ramparts and waterworks.
Weesp is a beautiful and old fortified town. From 24 March 2022, it will be part of Amsterdam. Weesp combines the city feeling with cosiness and beautiful nature: in the heart you will find not only many restaurants, cafes and shops, but also the river Vecht is never far away in the centre.
