Description
"Voor ons is dit altijd een unieke plek met ongelooflijk veel vrijheid geweest"
A house like this rarely comes on the market!
Beautiful 1930s villa, 187 square meters living space, with three working fireplaces, an architecturally designed front garden and a lovely spacious private backyard. With a lot of attention for original details the villa was modernised about 20 years ago. The high ceilings, window frames, doors and fireplaces have been restored to their original state and have been well maintained since then.
Along the house runs the driveway to the garage. The house stands on a large plot, several cars could be parked on site, on the driveway, in the garage and under the carport.
Layout
The front door of the villa is on the side and gives access to a classical entrance, where the beautiful authentic stained-glass doors are a preview of the rest of the villa. The stained-glass work recurs frequently, in the windows, but also the pattern in the entrance gate to the yard. After the vestibule with cloakroom, you enter the hall with granite floor and classic wall tiles, both with black lining. This hall, with beautiful wooden staircase, gives access to the living and dining room en suite, the kitchen and study.
The living and dining room ensuite can be separated from each other by the typical 1930s sliding doors, which slide open in fixed closets. Both rooms, and the side room, have fireplaces with the original bluestone mantelpieces, in which an insert and side convection ensure optimum use of the heat. The dining room has French doors to the garden. Through the hall you will find at the front a separate library or TV room with fireplace.
The kitchen, with marble floor tiles, is compact but efficiently laid out. There is a fixed pantry. Through the kitchen you walk to a spacious pantry room. Here you will find the toilet, the laundry room and lots of closet space, including the CV installation.
First floor
On the first floor the landing leads to four rooms. The master bedroom has fitted wardrobes, and en-suite doors to the second room designed as a bathroom. This bathroom has a freestanding bath, generous tiled walk-in shower, washbasin and toilet. From the bathtub there is a wonderful relaxing view of nature and water.
The second bedroom is now used as a study and has a closet. Mostly classic oak flooring on this level. The third room has a panoramic view over the Amsterdam Rhine Canal and is currently arranged as a second kitchen. The first floor can also be reached via the stairs outside. The floors are therefore easy to split.
Finally, there is the attic with two dormers. On the landing you will find the third toilet and a second shower, smart built-in cupboards and a bright room, to be used as a bedroom or hobby room.
The garden measures over 800 m2 and is bordered by a ditch for a large part.
On the north side, at the end of the driveway, is the garage. This is in 2000 newly built under architecture in the style of the house. The garage has an electric garage door, windows, cavity walls, water, electricity, heating and a storage loft and is good to use as for example office or practice at home. Next to it is a well sheltered carport of 28 m2. The terrace is adjacent to the house and along the south side runs a path to the rear.
In short: A quiet, generous house with original details in good condition, many rooms and a spacious garden.
"For us, this has always been a unique place with incredible freedom".
